London Paddington is a massive station, which has 14 platforms and is a terminus station. When you arrive at the station it looks really impressive – I particularly like the high arch of the roof. The station was much lighter than Birmingham New Street as it has plenty of natural light. Visibility of trains is pretty good considering the number of platforms and I managed to move easily between platforms to see all the trains, although I was there on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy. The staff are very friendly and have no problem letting you through the barriers, and the Heathrow Express platforms have no barriers at all. There are lots of good facilities within the station building – food, drink, shops and a GWR First Class lounge.
Lots of different classes such as class 43’s, class 165’s, class 166’s, class 800’s, class 360’s and class 387’s.
